Katrina Yu is a correspondent, video journalist, writer and consultant who has been based in Beijing for over five years. She has reported from mainland China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and Australia. Her stories and live updates have been broadcast on Al Jazeera English, the PBS Newshour, SBS News Australia, France24, CBS News Radio and TRT World. Her written work has appeared on NPR’s Global Health blog, Al Jazeera (Online), The CEO Magazine and the Sydney Morning Herald.

Katrina shoots with a Sony A7SII and her gear kit includes a range of lenses, a stabilisation crane, lighting, audio equipment and tripod. All video editing is done using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Katrina has an MA from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in Journalism and an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) which she completed as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
